      Description

      Dear Spanish node team,

I am the FIWARE coach for FINISH. Could you kindly assist the ChainPoint team? They are one of the granted SMEs for this accelerator.

As a summary, they are trying to locate the Orion CB instance with IP 130.206.114.113, as this has all the context data for this SME. Roland from the Stockholm node team thought this could be one of the IPs on the Spanish node. See his comment on Oct 14 on ticket HELP-4720.

Is 130.206.114.113 one of your IPs ? Please see ticket HELP-4710 if you need more details.

Thanks in advance for your help,

      ilknur

          Hi
Ahh I understand the problem. They have the resources in Spain2 but they ask for a community account in Stocolm. So, we remove the resources in Spain2, since it was not a community user.
Regarding discontinued nodes, I think users ask for a community account in other nodes and then they migrate their data manually.
          Regards,
          Henar

          Dear Henar,

Btw, they originally reported that they had a community account on the Stockholm node. They claimed they received an email about their community account on this node, and that they filled in the survey they were asked to fill for migration. But they did not hear back from the lab team after that.

Could it be the case that their community account was on the Stockholm node, and got deleted after the Stockholm node was shut down? Do you happen to know what happens to the community accounts that do not get migrated from the nodes that are discontinued?

          Thanks & best regards,

          ilknur

          Hi
There aren't backups about VMs deleted sorry. In fact, the deletion process was about almost 2 months ago. Sorry for any inconvenience. They can check that there are not community if they cannot access to the Cloud. I think several mails were sent about the deletion of resources and about upgrading to community. We cannot do more.
          Regards,
          Heanr

Dear Henar, thanks very much for your help..

As you can see from the notes I added to the original ticket (HELP-4720), it seems like they actually filed a community account request in July (FLUA-1273) , but this request did not complete due to a mis-communication issue (maybe JIRA tickets ended up in their spam folder, etc).

They thought they got a community account, in reality they didn't. How can we help them? Would there be any chance their VMs and data as a trial user (h.yildirim@chainpoint.com or g.taylor@chainpoint.com) could be found from a past backup?

It is really a shame, because if we are not able to help them, all their work from the beginning will be gone due to this communication problem.

Many thanks again for your help,

          ilknur

          Dear Henar,

I am asking the users about if anyone had the communtiy account, as at some point hey received a notification that was sent by Fiware Lab team tot he community users.

In parallel, would it be possible to check if m.verstappen@chainpoint.com has a community account?

Thanks very much again for your help,

          Hi
Not I am refering to different mails, specifying that trial users are just temporally and after that process all the resources were deleted. The only way to keep resources was to upgrade into community user. And it seems that these users didn't ask for that upgrade. The mail was sent to all users several times from 5 months ago.
          Regards,
          Henar

          Dear Henar,

I believe there may be a mix-up somewhere, as they received an email from the lab team at some point addressing them as a community user:

          "Dear FIWARE Lab Community user,
FIWARE is in a process of reorganisation in order to reinforce the offering to its user. In this process, as you might know, from 30 September 2015 some of the FIWARE Lab nodes will gradually discontinue their service provisioning.
          Such nodes are:
          Berlin
          Stockholm
          Waterford"

Do you know if this was sent out to all the lab users, or just the community users?

          Best regards,

          ilknur

          Hi
Both users are basic users. This means they didn't ask for a community account so that they lost their data.
Sorry for any inconvenience. The first step should be asking for a community account.
          Regards,
          Henar

          Dear Henar,

Thanks very much for your response. The original user who registered for them was h.yildirim@chainpoint.com , so this IP may have belonged to that eamil address. But then when he left the company, another colleague is trying to access the resources: g.taylor@chainpoint.com

Hope you are able to find the resources to either of them.

          Best regards,
