Dear Pablo, we have only a limited pool of IPv4 addresses, so we are assigning them to the users on a case-by-case basis upon a justified request. Please note that all of the VMs which run in Prague have native IPv6 connectivity, their IPv6 addresses are shown in the cloud portal, and that they are reachable from other XIFI nodes through their federated IPv4 private IP space through the Geant's MD-VPN. Outgoing IPv4 also works.

We can assign you a static IPv4 address. In order to allocate that, could you please share with us the use case you have in mind?

        With kind regards,
        Jan

        Dear Janm

We have not been able to connect to the machine through IPv6, probably our
        infrastructure does not support it.

We attach an image showing what we think is the IPv6 of the machine.

We have not fully understood the other way of connection you proposed
(using the Geant's MD-VPN). Furthermore we tried to connect to a instance
from another instance from the Spanish region using ssh, but we couldn't.
We cannot try from another regions because we can only launch images from
        Spain or Prague.

        Kind regards

        Dear Pablo,
please make sure that proper security groups are in place. OpenStack's default filters out incoming SSH connections.

We have adjusted the quotas for public IPv4 addresses. You should be able to obtain one publicly ourtable IPv4 address now.

We can now allocate an IP and connect to an instance using it.

        Thanks for the response.
