As a result, safer cities is a challenge and business/social problem that could be tackled by FIWARE.

Yes, I went through the material and I think it is very interesting indeed.

FIWARE is very active in the Smart Cities domain even though not restricted to urban security. We are collaborating with many initiatives in this respect. Because of that reason we committed to have a good presence in the next edition of Smart City Expo World Congress (18-20 November in Barcelona).
We will also be present in Le Web in Paris just in parallel to your event (http://leweb.co/). This amount of activities close to the end of the year may restrict a more active presence in your event.

Let me propose some options:

· A FIWARE speaker in the programme (this is something feasible provided we confirm the availability of one of our speakers on that date; as I told you it collides with some other events)

· Bringing some dissemination material to the event to promote FIWARE as an Open Solution that will undoubtedly create interest in your audience

In general we could have gone for a more ambitious plan like setting up a booth, sponsoring the event or the like. I would need to check this, but because of the great presence of FIWARE in events till the end of the year I doubt that we can count on remaining budget.

In any case, feel free to provide your feedback based on these proposals. We are more than happy to explore options.

If I’m entirely honest at this point in the game, I would have preferred to bring you onto the event as a sponsor, this way you can have a bigger impact on the event, if we worked out a partnership I cannot offer Fiware much branding or other opportunities to develop your company at the conference.

What I can do however is offer you a very cheap package for the event for you to participate but allows you to have a great impact, how does this sound to you?

If you can tell me how much budget you think you can work with / or potentially could get then I will put a package together which is best value for you? – don’t worry if you come back to me andits not a lot I will make sure I can get something great.

HI Sam,

As I anticipated, the problem is that we have assigned to events the whole remaining budget for 2014. As I told you, we will be sponsor in Smart City Expo World Congress as well as The web, as part of our strategic planning for events.
If the proposal had arrived earlier we could have managed to assign some budget. At this stage it is not feasible anymore, but maybe we can stay in contact for the edition in 2015.

Since the event will run in parallel to several events, including Smart City Expo, it also makes more difficult the presence of one of our relevant speakers, but if you still think we can have an opportunity in your event to check the potential interests by the audience, that would be great. Then, we would be more prepared for 2015.

If I’m entirely honest at this point in the game, I would have preferred to bring you onto the event as a sponsor, this way you can have a bigger impact on the event, if we worked out a partnership I cannot offer Fiware much branding or other opportunities to develop your company at the conference.

What I can do however is offer you a very cheap package for the event for you to participate but allows you to have a great impact, how does this sound to you?

Yes, I went through the material and I think it is very interesting indeed.

FIWARE is very active in the Smart Cities domain even though not restricted to urban security. We are collaborating with many initiatives in this respect. Because of that reason we committed to have a good presence in the next edition of Smart City Expo World Congress (18-20 November in Barcelona).
We will also be present in Le Web in Paris just in parallel to your event (http://leweb.co/). This amount of activities close to the end of the year may restrict a more active presence in your event.

Let me propose some options:

· A FIWARE speaker in the programme (this is something feasible provided we confirm the availability of one of our speakers on that date; as I told you it collides with some other events)

· Bringing some dissemination material to the event to promote FIWARE as an Open Solution that will undoubtedly create interest in your audience

In general we could have gone for a more ambitious plan like setting up a booth, sponsoring the event or the like. I would need to check this, but because of the great presence of FIWARE in events till the end of the year I doubt that we can count on remaining budget.

In any case, feel free to provide your feedback based on these proposals. We are more than happy to explore options.

I have checked the website of the Safe Cities Conference and it is well aligned with some of the problems FIWARE addresses.

As you may know, FIWARE is not restricted to a concrete application domain, i.e. it is domain agnostic. However, the potential impact on cities (smart cities) has led us to define a specific offering for smart cities. As a result, safer cities is a challenge and business/social problem that could be tackled by FIWARE.
I have gone through some of the speakers of your conference and they basically belong to urban planning/public administration/cities. Which are the technology partners you are inviting? (so that we can get an idea of the kind of solutions exposed in the conference).

In alignment with that, feel free to share with us what role you expect from FIWARE and next steps to work on a potential collaboration.

As I anticipated, the problem is that we have assigned to events the whole remaining budget for 2014. As I told you, we will be sponsor in Smart City Expo World Congress as well as The web, as part of our strategic planning for events.
If the proposal had arrived earlier we could have managed to assign some budget. At this stage it is not feasible anymore, but maybe we can stay in contact for the edition in 2015.

Since the event will run in parallel to several events, including Smart City Expo, it also makes more difficult the presence of one of our relevant speakers, but if you still think we can have an opportunity in your event to check the potential interests by the audience, that would be great. Then, we would be more prepared for 2015.

Long exchange of e-mails to check teh potential presence of FIWARE in Safecity event. This requires budget and the budget for 2014 has already been distrbuted. We will get back in contact for potential collaboration in 2015, since the smart city concept is essential for FIWARE exploitation

Thank you very much for your interest.

I have checked the website of the Safe Cities Conference and it is well aligned with some of the problems FIWARE addresses.

As you may know, FIWARE is not restricted to a concrete application domain, i.e. it is domain agnostic. However, the potential impact on cities (smart cities) has led us to define a specific offering for smart cities. As a result, safer cities is a challenge and business/social problem that could be tackled by FIWARE.
I have gone through some of the speakers of your conference and they basically belong to urban planning/public administration/cities. Which are the technology partners you are inviting? (so that we can get an idea of the kind of solutions exposed in the conference).

In alignment with that, feel free to share with us what role you expect from FIWARE and next steps to work on a potential collaboration.
