FIWARE.Request.General. Can a sports-web-project apply for FIWARE ACCELERATOR PROGRAMME?

    Details

      Description

      Dear Sir,

We have a great idea for a sports-web-platform. The aim is to collect all
sports activities in one online location for two main purposes:

      1. To make it easier for users to search, find and sign up for sport
activities - we desire to make people more (social) physical active

      2. To make it easier for future (and existing) organizer to set up a
sport activity and to get more participants to sign up for each activity -
thus inspire more to arrange sports activities thus motivate people to get
      more (social) physical active

Does a web idea like ours fall under the FIWARE ACCELERATOR PROGRAMME?

When I read the information of FIWARE ACCELERATOR PROGRAMME and the sectors
you are looking for I do not see that our idea can apply for the FIWARE
      ACCELERATOR PROGRAMME?

I hope I am wrong and I am looking forward to your favorable reply and thank
      you in advance!

      Best Regards

        dear kristian,

some quick answers from my side.

i think ict support to sport is a quite interesting field which to my
knowledge is not that adressed in the fiware community, perhpas not at all
(still submissions are on going so i do not know the final results yet).

as you had alredy spotted there is no specific accelerato projects on the
matter among the 16 ones on going.
however i think that sport migth fit in at least two sectors: wellbeing and
        smartcities.

while calls for the first one are at the moment closed, there are still few
for the smartcities open like for instance ceed tech and frontiercities.
i eventually suggest you to contact directly such project to sheck if your
topic migth fit with their interests, i hope they will say yes to you!

in case you use, or plan to use open data, also finodex migth be of your
        concern.

as miguel already pointed out to you more info are in
http://www.fi-ware.org/accelerators/ where you can find all the projects
divided by main domain and then their direct contacts and info on calls
still open or to be opened soon (spring 2015).

        ciao,
        stefano

Thanks a lot for your prompt and positive reply!

First of all it is nice to hear that you also find ICT support to sport is an interesting field…

I will try to contact both “ceed tech” and “frontiercities” under the smartcities section directly and see how they reply?

Thanks again and enjoy the day J
