      Description

      Hi,

I'm José Jaime, one of the guys that is working in the robotics GE (I2ND
      group).

Yesterday I delivered a FIWARE workshop but none of the students neither
me could create an instance in FI-LAB, the web was extremely slow and
all the created instances blocked in the scheduling task in the ERROR
      status.

Today I've tried to create a new instance but is also in ERROR status
      (my account is jariza@ieee.org).

What is happening? Do we should to advise you before each workshop?

      Thank you very much.

          Dear José,
I have seen, from your previous messages, that you are using the Spain region: yesterday there was a connectivity problem on the Spanish node caused by a fiber cut and resolved this morning. In addition, as described in the access message, currently the region Spain has run out of resources: so, you can not create any instance at this moment.
Please, in the meantime try to use the other regions (currently under configuration and testing).
Anyway I have forwarded your issue to the Spanish node support team to verify your blocked instances.
          Best regards
          Marco

Federico, can you comment to jjaime@ikergune.com, if there is a region which can use them for the workshop?
          thanks,

          Dear Jose,
except for the blueprint that may have some GUI issues on neutron based nodes, you should be able to use (just tested):

          • Waterford
          • Budapest

Nodes with neutron network are a bit more complex to configure.

          1. select the network pane and create a network including a subnet
          (e.g. 192.168.12.0/24)
          2. select the router pane and create a router
          3. select the created router and set the default gateway
(XIFI-public-WIT-00) - unfortunately a bug in the portal will refresh
          the whole app
          4. click on the created router and select the interface pane; add as
interface the subnet of your network
          5. click on security pane, select keypar panel, create a keypar
          6. select floating ip panel, and allocate a public ip to the project
          7. click on image pane, select an image and click launch: settings
flavour m1, the keypair created, and the network create. (wait the vm
          to be active)
          8. click on the secutiry panel, select the floating IPs, and attach
the reserved IP to your vm

in case of budapest, you can use "publicInternal" as network instead of creating your own

when you have events, it is better you inform us upfront with requirements, so we try to be sure everything is in place.

          cheers,
          federico
