      Description

      Dear Fiware Lab Help,
I have created an ubuntu virtual machine, and obtained a public IP.
However, it does not seem that my virtual machine is accessible through
ssh, either using my private key on console, or converting it to .ppk with
      putty.

Looking a bit more into it, I seem to need a subnet, which I created and a
gateway, which I also created. Creating an interface does not seem to be
      allowed.

The result is that I have my virtual machine connected to a cloud, and the
world has a gateway, but no connection with my virtual machine (see
      screenshot below).

This must be a beginners problem, but I have not been able to find a
solution just googling. What is the trivial thing that I am doing wrong?

      Thank you. Regards,
      Joan

        Dear Joan,

I've realized you don't have a Keypair (which you'll need to enter your VM) and I can't see the configuration of your security groups. Please, keep in mind that you need a Keypair to access your VM beacause there is no password for the users of your VMs and you need to add security rules to your security groups to open ports since the cloud acts like a closed firewall (every port is closed).

You might not need to create your own networks, routers, gateways, etc.

        Regards,
        José Ignacio

I did get a private .pem and opened the port 22 to access through ssh,
after creating a security group. However, Connection with putty did not
        work.

I alsotried to open.the ping port, but overall I did not seem to.manage
connecting to the ubuntu vm from that ip, either through ssh, or doing just
        a ping.

I am happy to remove all that subnet and routers. However, I can't find the
simplest way to connect that ubuntu virtual machine to the public ip.

How do I connect that vm to the ip in order to access it through ssh?

        Thanks. Regards,
        Joan

        nevermind,
I restarted from scratch trying different options and I seem to have
managed to log in my virtual machine.
        Thanks! Regards,
