      Question:
Any examples/GEs for ingestion of large XML files with complex schemas?

      Description:
      Hi,

Are there any FIWARE use cases/demo applications or GEs that deal with ingestion/intake and validation of large XML files with complex schemas?

I thought perhaps some GEs from the Advanced Web UI chapter could be dealing with this type of large XML files, perhaps especially when processing geographical data. i.e. POI server, or 3D UI GE, etc? Is this really the case?

Or are there GEs from other FIWARE chapters that are dealing with similar issues around the intake of large XML files?

Many thanks in advance for any pointers. Kind regards,

      ilknur

From a Data chapter perspective, there's no such activity. This probably would involve usage of some type of ETL. Worth checking with the Advanced Web UI chapter Leader if this is something covered by any of the GEs in that chapter.

        Good morning,

I have forwarded the request to the members of the WebUI chapter. The GEri and GEi from DFKI do not have such cases. 3D-UI / XML3D naturally makes heavy use of XML files, but we don't deal with the ingestion and validation of the files ourselves. This is entirely done by the DOM parser of the Web browser. The GEi FiVES of the Synchronization GE does not have an XML parsing interface to this point, as it is not needed.

I have now got reply from all the other GE in the chapter, and while some of them do use XML as one of several file formats, none of them deals with validation in particular, or particularly large XML files.
