[Fiware-collaboration-req] EU H2020 eHealth project possible collaboration

    Details

      Description

      Dear FIWARE team,

I write on behalf of Gruppo SIGLA srl, we are working in a EU H2020
funded eHealth project (FRAILSAFE - frailsafe-project.eu), and we are
evaluating which could be the best hosting alternative for the IT
services we are implementing and providing during the progress of the
      project.

We saw in many new EU H2020 calls - related to IT and IoT in particular

      • that FIWARE is encouraged to be used and we guessed it could be a
possible solution, concerning the FIWARE LAB part too.

Under the technical point of view at first glance it seems to be
feasible and interesting to adopt some FIWARE components.
However we are still investigating with care the documentation available
from the FIWARE website to understand how it fits to our needs and, in
particular, how to use the Cloud Host services/features.

Under a practical point of view we would like to ask whether, for a EU
funded project like ours, is possible and already happend to :

      • have a Community Account for the FIWARE LAB on a longer period than
the default 9months (when approved) and with higher custom resources
        quotas
      • fully comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation using
        FIWARE facilities/features

      Best regards,

      Luca

        dear luca,

hopefully this email finds you still interested in fiware. we apologise for this delay, but now we are able to close all the gaps.
so happy to be contact with you and happy to receive your request and being able to provide you some answers.

as fiware foundation we are happy to provide support to your project in particular putting at your disposal a community account in fiware lab. as you perfectly said the community account has a limited duration (9 months), but such duration is renewable, so there is no problem to extend it as your project needs.
the same way we can give you the resources your project needs provided you justify them to us. anyhow as we are delighted to support our users such justifications shall be just good enough.

data protection was one of the main requirements of fiware since its start back to 2011. one of the main features of fiware is that its usage is completely flexible. we certainly satisfy the requirement on data privacy as defined by the eu. however, you can always be able not only to request the fiware lab node of your preference (we have several in various european country), but also you can always install critical ge(s) and/or data storage means on your own machines, if you think this is better for you.

happy to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

        kind regards
        stefano de panfilis
