FIWARE.Request.Collabora. Using the enabler LOCS (developed by Thales)

    Details

      Description

      Hi,

I am Grete Gutmann, the project manager for CEED Tech (FI-PPP stage 3 project).

I have a request on behalf of 2 different startups who are interested in the enabler LOCS

      http://forge.fi-ware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FIWARE.ArchitectureDescription.Data.Location

One of thestartups found LOCS in the catalogue some months ago, but since then it has been removed.

After talking to another startup I think that they could also benefit from the same technology (they are developing a parking app).

My question therefore is – who should I contact to receive information about the technology and gain access to it? Is it someone from Thales (who has developed the enabler)? I would appreciate contacts or to be directly answered by the respective person.

      Thank you,

      Best,

      Grete Gutmann

        Dear Grete,

FIWARE has reorganizaed the roadmap to remove GEs that are not going to have future evolution and also those not in open source. Unformtunately LOCs falls in the category of those who are no longer supported in FIWARE.

However, I can put you in direct contact with the owners of the LOCS platform to see how they can handle this situation. Theoretically they must support their GE until the end of the current project ( December 2014)

        Best regards,

        Miguel

Thank you so much for your quick answer!

I would highly highly appreciate a reply from the developers of LOCS (I am assuming they are Alain and Remi - very nice to meet you). I am in contact with 2 startups who would be interested in using this technology. How can they gain access and what are the terms of use for them?

        Dear Grete,

        It was my pleasure.

The terms of use are ultimately in the hands of the GE owners. Last time they were public on our catalogue, they read this under "external availability"_

        External availability

Software associated to the LOCS product is usually provided under paid licenses in compliance with FRAND (Fair Reasonable And Non-Discriminatory) terms. Please contact remi.challamel@thalesaleniaspace.com<remi.challamel%40thalesaleniaspace.com> to obtain further information about pricing of licenses and other commercial use terms and conditions.

However, Thales Alenia Space is open to negotiate bi-lateral commercial agreements with companies willing to commercialize and/or support the LOCS product, or develop products/services based on it. Please contact remi.challamel@thalesaleniaspace.com<remi.challamel%40thalesaleniaspace.com> to obtain further information about commercial liaisons.

Other than that, I am unable to speak on behalf of the rightful owners of this GE.

@Remi, Alain : please provide an answer.

        Best regards,

        Miguel

The terms of use are ultimately in the hands of the GE owners. Last time they were public on our catalogue, they read this under "external availability"_ External availability Software associated to the LOCS product is usually provided under paid licenses in compliance with FRAND (Fair Reasonable And Non-Discriminatory) terms. Please contact remi.challamel@thalesaleniaspace.com< remi.challamel%40thalesaleniaspace.com > to obtain further information about pricing of licenses and other commercial use terms and conditions. However, Thales Alenia Space is open to negotiate bi-lateral commercial agreements with companies willing to commercialize and/or support the LOCS product, or develop products/services based on it. Please contact remi.challamel@thalesaleniaspace.com< remi.challamel%40thalesaleniaspace.com > to obtain further information about commercial liaisons. Other than that, I am unable to speak on behalf of the rightful owners of this GE. @Remi, Alain : please provide an answer. I would highly highly appreciate a reply from the developers of LOCS (I am assuming they are Alain and Remi - very nice to meet you). I am in contact with 2 startups who would be interested in using this technology. How can they gain access and what are the terms of use for them? Unformtunately LOCs falls in the category of those who are no longer supported in FIWARE. However, I can put you in direct contact with the owners of the LOCS platform to see how they can handle this situation. Theoretically they must support their GE until the end of the current project ( December 2014) Best regards, Miguel El 27/10/2014 10:24, Grete Gutmann escribió: Hi, I am Grete Gutmann, the project manager for CEED Tech (FI-PPP stage 3 project). I have a request on behalf of 2 different startups who are interested in the enabler LOCS http://forge.fi-ware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FIWARE.ArchitectureDescription.Data.Location One of thestartups found LOCS in the catalogue some months ago, but since then it has been removed. After talking to another startup I think that they could also benefit from the same technology (they are developing a parking app). My question therefore is - who should I contact to receive information about the technology and gain access to it? Is it someone from Thales (who has developed the enabler)? I would appreciate contacts or to be directly answered by the respective person.
