      Description

      Dear Spain node,

      We would like to move a VM in my community account on Spain node to the Spain Tenerife node, could you kindly help us with this please?

      If possible we would like to request that we could have both instances running at least a few days before deleting the one on Spain node so that we can check that everything is working properly.

      Since January 1st, old domains won't be supported and messages sent to any domain different to @lists.fiware.org will be lost.

        Dear Ilknur,

        There is a method to migrate VMs from one region to another. Take a look to http://docs.openstack.org/user-guide/cli-use-snapshots-to-migrate-instances.html but it is a bad solutions due to you need to have or keep the snapshot for each migrated VM.

        We are trying to find a better solution in order not to keep this image in the target OpenStack environment. We will give you more details on it.

        In the meanwhile, another question, how can we create a local backup of this VM? Do we create a snapshot and somehow download it? I could not see any options in the cloud portal to download snapshots, do we need to use the glance client, or is there an easier way?

        Btw, after talking with my colleagues, it seems it will be more preferable for us to keep the VM in both nodes (Spain and SpainTenerife) instead of migrating it completely from Spain to SpainTenerife.

        is an interesting question that can be usefull for many users.

        The answer, anyway is no: You should do it from outside your VM. You can
        download your image to your host.

        Actually, no. Jose Ignacio has kindly answered my second question about taking a local back up of an instance.
        But we are still waiting for the migration of our VM from the Spain node to the SpainTenerife node.
        Fernando has mentioned that they were working on a new mechanism for this.

        Fernando, do you have any updates?

But we are still waiting for the migration of our VM from the Spain node to the SpainTenerife node. Fernando has mentioned that they were working on a new mechanism for this.         Maybe you could add a new VM in SpainTenerife and copy data between your nodes? Would that be feasible?
