FIWARE.Request.Collabora. Collaboration - fiware

    Details

      Description

      Dear fiware team,

I'm Andres Upegui, professor at the University of applied sciences of
Western Switzerland (HES-SO). In our university we have a research
programme called iNUIT which aims to forge closer links with industry to
place technologies based on the Internet of Things at the service of
      companies
      (http://www.hes-so.ch/data/documents/Brochure-iNuit-web-en-6518.pdf).
The programme includes several projects which address different issues
related to IoT ranging from devices design, wireless infrastructure,
cloud, security, data mining to different type of applications.

I'm contacting you for two reasons:

      • In our next call for projects we would like to impose fiware as the
implementation platform, in order to permit a better integration among
the different projects in the future. We would therefore like to seek a
        collaboration with the FIWARE community.
      • We are also co-organizing the IoT-week 2017 (http://iot-week.eu/)
which includes a Hackathon. We would like to propose the fiware platform
among with some hardware devices in order to propose IoT solutions for
application in the domain of sustainable development. We would like to
invite you to join us for co-organizing this activity.

Thanks in advance for your time and your attention,

      Best regards,

      Andres Upegui

        Dear Andres,

Thank you for your interest in FIWARE. We think is a great opportunity for us that you propose FIWARE as the elected implementation platform. Count with our support for sure.

To establish a "collaboration" currently you have different ways to collaborate with FIWARE, detailed as follows:

We have already drafted our governance model for the Open Source Community on how to contribute https://www.fiware.org/fiware-governance/

Apart from that, there’s we have FIWARE Foundation , which is a separated “entity” let’s say and this is open to any industry or company that wants to invest or participate. Our current rules are here: https://www.fiware.org/foundation/ as there are different type of membership, your institution could apply in to "Associate members" (non profit, public research institutions). Please read more in our page about conditions and rules.

Also, you can see our community: https://www.fiware.org/fiware-community

About the FIWARE IoT chapter our colleague in cc Carlos Ralli is in charge of it, so we can explore further contributions to your hackathon event. Or if you have further questions on IoT also you can directly contact him.

Please, let us know if you have further questions.

        Best regards,

        Malena
