      Description

      Dear all,

From this morning we are having issues with one machine where we have deployed the Cloud MEssaging (GE). There are a lot of core dumps and I/O erros. We cannot event reboot the machine because the reboot command returns I/O errors.

The machine IP is 130.206.113.59 and the node is Spain2.

What could we do? Please, forward this email to the right person if this is not the correct way of proceeding.

      best regards

        Hi.

That is likely to have been a problem accessing the disk outside the VM. The only thing you can do is stop the VM and start it again (not rebooting).

However, today there are some mantainence works in progress.

        Regards,
        José Ignacio.

        Hi Jose Ignacio,

We have just stopped the machine and started it again. The process has taken too long but finally the machine started. However, it is impossible to reach the machine from outside, neither doing a ping to it.
        Could you, please, check?

        Thanks in advance!

I've stopped your VM. It seems your disk needs to be checked offline in order to make it work again.

Yes, that was it. A simple fsck made it properly boot again.

        Hi Jose Igancio,

It seems that, when you mounted the hard disk of the VM in a read-only mode. That makes our app fail because it is impossible for us to write on it. Could you, please, check it?

        Thanks in advance!

Something is causing the filesystem corruption in that VM. I don't know if that is because you have something weird running in your VM or something in the server running your VM.

I would recommend you to make a backup and install again in another VM while I dig in this a little more.

Your host is running at this moment.

        Regards,
        José Ignacio.
