      Description

      Hi,

What is the correct way, where to contact, to request a name server
entry, e.g. "poi.lab.fiware.org" for the FIWARE POI Data Provider Global
      Instance?

      Best Regards
Ari Okkonen (FIWARE POI-DP Enabler Owner)

The Apache server is now running. I am currently installing the other software. Catalog entry and Nagios will come next.
The IP address of the server is http://130.206.115.237/ . I suggest the URL to be "poi.lab.fiware.org". Name in the catalogue is "POI Data Provider". The catalogue entry is http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers/poi-data-provider .
A SSL connection would be preferable, but how to get a decent certificate?

        The DNS entry is configured.

What do you mean by "a ssl connection would be preferable"? Do you want to use an https for your component and you request a decent certificate?

Regarding Nagios, we just need to check that the service is up and running. It is just a sanity check of your component.

poi.lab.fiware.org works fine, thank you. The server is up and running. You can have a look by opening http://poi.lab.fiware.org/pois and selecting e.g. "saarbrucken" as the position and "Entertainmet etc." as categories. However the authentication and authorization tokens for logged-in use are currently transmitted in plaintext, because only http is available. A decent SSL certificate would allow use of https to hide those tokens. I think that other data is not sensitive. With "decent" I mean a certificate that does not raise spectacular and difficult-to-pass "untrusted certificate" warnings in the browser.
Moreover, I need a link to up-to-date detailed instructions about what I have to do about Nagios The ones I found weren't valid anymore.

To be sure that the POI GE is properly on-line, the server and the client can be queried using Nagios:

        1. the server:
        http://poi.lab.fiware.org/poi_dp/radial_search?lat=1&lon=1&category=test_poi
should return Status code "200 OK", Content-Type "application/json", and something starting with "{" as the content.

        2. the demo client:
        http://poi.lab.fiware.org/pois/
should return status "200 OK", Content-Type "text/html", and something starting with "<" as the content.

Then it is quite likely that the service is OK. Simple reboot should be enough in case of problems.

The component is configured in the Nagios tool, detailed information was sent by email to the user and the google doc document was completed with the proper information.
