          Hi,

          We are looking for help / documentation on setting up / configuring a
          kurento machine for scaling.
          What is the best setup or configuration to handle as many streams as
          possible.

          We are running on Google Cloud but a reference to AWS is comparable I think.

          Our project has to main scenarios:

          • Users streaming audio/video + screencast streams and Kurento just saves
            them on disk.
          • Room where 1 user sends audio/video + screencast streams, 1 user sends
            audio / video, 2-3 viewers

              Currently Kurento does not support scaling out of the box and requires an external orchestrator that manages instance coordination.
              Best approach to build a scalable infrastructure based in Kurento would require following elements

              • WS Load balancer. This element will become the cloud entry point and will route WS connection among a cluster of serving nodes.
              • Kurento orchestrator wrapper. This element mirrors Kurento API and is able to terminate kurento client connections. It is also responsible to manage a second layer of the cluster where KMS instances are located. The orchestrator must be able to monitor KMS instances. It must implement the placement algorithm that select a KMS instance for each client and to route client request to destination pipelines.
              • Kurento media server cluster. This is a cluster of Kurento Media Server instances that actually provides media services.
