Hi Kenneth,
I got your contact information from Pasquale Vitale. He said we can contact you with questions regarding docker on the FIWARE cloud. When we follow the instructions powerpoint we run into the following error when executing the docker-machine create ... command:
Error creating machine: Error detecting OS: OS type not recognized
Bellow are the exact commands we executed on our local environment and their corresponding output.

docker-machine create -d openstack --openstack-flavor-id="2" --openstack-image-name="base_ubuntu_14.04" --openstack-net-name="node-int-net-01" --openstack-floatingip-pool="public-ext-net-01" --openstack-sec-groups="docker" FIWARE-LANNION2

Note that we were not able to use the "Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 (x64)" image since this image is not (or not anymore) available in our region (Lannion2). Can you help us to resolve this issue? Thanks on advance.

The image that you are using does not allow ssh to root.
Try adding --openstack-ssh-user="ubuntu"
