      Description

      Hello,

I'm trying to generate a scatter plot for my data with FIWARE tools. It seems that SpagoBI doesn't support this kind of chart type. What other options do I have?

      BR,
      Kimmo Surakka

          Hi Davide,
may you clarify whether SpaboBI can provide scatter plot or not?

          Thanks in advance,
          P.

          Hi
SpagoBI has scatter charts. Actually there are 2 alternatives:
          1. using ExtJS library: see https://wiki.spagobi.org/xwiki/bin/view/spagobi_server/Scatter;
          2. using Highcharts library: https://wiki.spagobi.org/xwiki/bin/view/spagobi_server/Scatter+Highchart
Pay attention to Highcharts license: see http://www.spagobi.org/homepage/opensource/license/ for details (click on Other licenses).
          Hope this helps
          Best regards.

          Hello,

Thanks for the pointers. Unfortunately I don't understand how to use these graphs with ad-hoc reports.

My use case for SpagoBI is simply to use it as a data visualisation tool, the actual analysis is calculated elsewhere. Is it possible SpagoBI is overkill for my needs and some other FIWARE GE would be more suitable?

          BR,

          Hi
the scatter chart is not available within SpagoBI ad-hoc reporting functionalities at the moment (i.e. final users are not able to create a scatter chart by theirselves). A developer user should define the dataset (the object retrieving the data) and the template file (following the documentation links I sent you) and publish the document on SpagoBI server, allowing final users to look at it.
I don't know if there are other GEs providing scatter charts for ad-hoc reporting, I'm afraid.
          Best regards
          Davide
