The acceleration programme was set up by the European Commission and it opened a call for proposals that ended up awarding funding to a series of projects (the so-called "accelerators"). The open calls were find and select innovative proposals from SMEs and entrepreneurs for more information please see http://www.fiware.org/fiware-accelerator-programme/ or event you can check http://www.fiware.org/accelerators/ I am not aware of an extension in the foreseeable future (this should be decided and launched by the EC, anyway). The accelerators have closed their calls and already the SMEs are elected to participate in get such funding. However, you should note that currently the platform is available to all, all generic enablers (GE) are open source and you are more than welcome to use it, test it, share it etc. You can check GEs here: http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers Please, let us know if we can help you further.
