      Description

      Dear Fiware,

We heard about the Fiware community, because it was mentioned after a presentation we held about the VIBe initiative. In this initiative we developed open API's for telematics solution providers, to make 'car as a sensor' data available for third parties (of course taking privacy and security issues in mind).

Therefore I was wondering whether I could get more information about the possibilities to become a part of the Fiware community. Especially the possibilities for using the context broker, and the possibility to share data on this platform.

      Kind regards,
      Coen Obdeijn

        Dear Coen,

You could start with taking a look at the FIWARE Developers and Entrepreneurs page first, if you haven't already done so:
        https://www.fiware.org/developers-entrepreneurs/

Then you can sign up in the FIWARE Lab to experiment with FIWARE:
        https://account.lab.fiware.org/

Specifically for context broker, you can find info here:
        https://www.fiware.org/devguides/development-context-aware-applications/
        https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FIWARE.ArchitectureDescription.Data.ContextBroker

And if you would like to publish open data, you can turn to CKAN, the open data portal in FIWARE Lab:
        https://data.lab.fiware.org/
        https://www.fiware.org/devguides/publishing-open-data-in-fiware/
        https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FIWARE.ArchitectureDescription.Data.OpenData

Regarding the use of the FIWARE components, all software provided by FIWARE is open source (the only thing is you should pay attention to the terms of conditions, since the conditions may vary depending on the usage context, for example, if used in a commercial environment, some restrictions may apply).

If you also want to contribute to the code base, you may want to join the Open source community. All the information (membership, procedures, roles, etc)…is described here:
        https://www.fiware.org/fiware-community/
If you have any difficulties with the open source community, we can direct you directly to someone involved in this new open source community initiative.

        Hope this helps for now.

        Kind regards,

        ilknur
