Description
Dear,
I have setup a new Orion instance on the FIWARE Cloud. To be able to access
it from the outside, I attached a public IP address to it, and opened a
number of ports via the security group. I am able to SSH to the machine,
but when running a simple Python TCP server on the node on one of the open
ports, I don't seem to be able to access the instance, and get a
'Connection refused' when I'm trying to send a message to it. Also
telnetting to the public IP and the port results in a connection refused.
Is there a firewall that limits outside access, or do other settings need
to be changes in order to enable this?
Thanks in advance,
Mathias

Dear Mathias,
i checked the problem. On the Budapest2 node is everything works. I lanched an orion VM and i can connect to the 10000 port. The thing that i need to do: enable the port on the VM. If you connect on the VM, you need to set the iptables rules. In your case you need to add this command on the VM:
sudo iptables -I INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 10000 -j ACCEPT
If the rule (port 10000) enabled in the security group on the portal, you can reach the VM.
