FIWARE.Request.Lab.Gent.Unable to start instance.

      Description

      Hi,

      While I was trying to create snapshots from my existing instances I stumbled upon a problem.
      I wasn’t able to create the snapshots so I decided to suspend the instance first before attempting to create the snapshots again.

      This however caused my instance to be in a vm_state error an I am not able to boot it anymore.

      Could you help me with creating snapshots and getting my instance back online?

        Hello Giuseppe,

        Thanks for picking this up.

        I’m noticing some activities on my instances so I’m guessing the Gent support team is working on it.
        Only now I’m not able to see any of my instances on Fiware Lab including the one that was working properly.

        Is there a way for me to contact the Gent support team directly?

        Problem should be solved by now. You can restart your VM and do the backup/snapshot of your VM.

        Thank you! I see that my instance is working again and the snapshot has succeeded.
        When I tried to suspend my other instance to snapshot it, the same thing happend and also has the ERROR status.

        Dear Ricardo,

        It shouldn't be happening, is it possible that the server get a request timeout since it was dealing with to much disk operation at the same time.

        In anycase, we check it and reset your VM to get back it working.

        Hi Gent node,

        I have successfully created snapshot of both instances and rebooted them.
        In the Lab it says that they are both online, but when I try to connect via SSH it says that the network is unreachable.

        Do you know what might have caused this?

        Dear Ricardo,

        We still looking into it. Seems there is a bug with the network controller that randomly locks the bridge port and connections stop working.
