      Description

      Dear fiware tech-help team,

I am sending in front of the FRACTALS accelerator tech support team.
I am forwarding to you an e-mail coming from a project of the accelerator program which is related to the Big Cosmos GE installation.
It would be great if you can provide to me some support on that issue.

      Thank you in advance.

      Kind Regards,

      Dimitris Soukaras

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Dear Sir or Madam,

while installing Cosmos GE I have encountered a problem.

When I run this command on my master node

      APACHE_FLUME_HOME/bin/flume-ng agent --conf APACHE_FLUME_HOME/conf -f APACHE_FLUME_HOME/conf/cosmos-injector.conf -n orionagent -Dflume.root.logger=INFO,console

this is the error I get:

      [ERROR - es.tid.fiware.orionconnectors.cosmosinjector.OrionHDFSSink.start(OrionHDFSSink.java:108)] Connection to http://192.168.4.119:14000 <http://192.168.4.119:14000/> refused

Have you had some similar problems? It seems like I haven't installed cosmos properly, but i've installed it accordingly to BigData Analysis - Installation and Administration Guide. There are a few things that I didn't understand in installation manual:

Where should I create folder [COSMOS_TMP_PATH]?(Or is this irrelevant)

When applying puppet on any one of the hosts sudo puppet apply --debug --verbose --modulepath /[COSMOS_TMP_PATH]/puppet/modules/:/[COSMOS_TMP_PATH]/puppet/modules_third_party/:/[COSMOS_TMP_PATH]/rpms/ --environment cosmos --hiera_config /[COSMOS_TMP_PATH]/puppet/modules/cosmos/manifests/hiera.yaml --manifestdir /[COSMOS_TMP_PATH]/puppet/modules/cosmos/manifests/ /[COSMOS_TMP_PATH]/puppet/modules/cosmos/ i dont get any errors but I don't lose connection with the server. (according to manual: Please observe the connection with the slave is lost)

      Also after downloading fiware-connector

      git checkout release/0.1

      cd fiware-connectors/flume

APACHE_MAVEN_HOME/bin/mvn package instead of cosmos-injector-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar I get cygnus-0.1.jar.(Is this a wrong file or just inconsistency in naming.

Would it be too much of you to send us more detailed installation guide?

Im looking forward to hearing from you.

      Best regards,

        Dear Dimitris,

sorry for the late answer, I was on holidays.

On the one hand, please, tell the user that the Cosmos implementation was recently changed, I new one is available at:
        https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/BigData_Analysis_-_Installation_and_Administration_Guide.

Old implementation of Cosmos was discontinued in favour of a Openstack' Sahara based deployment. Anyway, it is very important the user checks this section:
        https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/BigData_Analysis_-_Installation_and_Administration_Guide#Intended_audience

As you can see (and the user will do), it is not always necessary to install the enabler since Cosmos is addressed to those companies willing to become a Big Data service provider; thus, if the user just want to use Big Data services, he/she can use the global instance of Cosmos at FIWARE Lab or just deploy a simple Hadoop cluster.

On the other hand, tell the user the old "fiware-connector" tool, now called Cygnus, is available at 0.8.2 version (he/she was trying to install the 0.1 one):
        https://github.com/telefonicaid/fiware-cygnus/releases/tag/release-0.8.2

        Best regards,
        Francisco
