Regarding your question sent to email to FIWARE general help list:

I would be interested to know if FIWARE would be the right choice of
software platform to meet additional functional requirements for a
proprietary application in supporting the data integration and
visualisation. The software provides information about air travel
disruptions (flights, passengers, airport services, related costs and
revenue).

This is a very brief description of the project. If the use of FIWARE
looks feasible, I would be happy to provide more detailed information for
further evaluation of its applicability.
I think that several FIWARE enablers could help to materialize your application, such as:

Orion Context Broker as single integration point for all information, modelled as context element based on the entity-attribute paradigm
Cosmos/STH to keep attributes value evolution along time
SpagoBI or Wirecloud to provide data visualization

and probably others, depending on the nature of your application.

However, in order to provide better advice, I'd need some more information. A short functional description of the application and an architecture diagram may help.
