Dear Ari Okkkonen,
Following the earlier conversation, I have followed the steps provided in the tutorial of POI GE and have imported the OpenStreetMap data into the PSQL using osm2pgsql tool.
I would be much grateful if you could clarify the following couple of points:
1. The database tables created by osm2pgsql should be again imported into fw_core and fw_core_intl tables using the comamnd
psql -U gisuser -d poidatabase -f insert_fw_core_from_osm.sql
I have downloaded the OSM data from: http://download.geofabrik.de/ and the files are available as different regions, namely africa, antartica, asia etc.. As instructed in the readme file, I suppose during the import process, the region name should be appropriately used..
2. As you have mentioned below, the POI GE uses MongoDB.. However, after following the installation steps my mongodb database is pretty much empty.. Just as an example, please find below the list of count values from different mongodb collections from poi_database
the total size of poi_db is 0.203125GB
> show collections
fw_contact
fw_marker
fw_media
fw_relationships
fw_time
system.indexes
> db.fw_contact.count()
1
> db.fw_marker.count()
1
> db.fw_media.count()
1
> db.fw_relationships.count()
1
> db.fw_time.count()
2
Can you please confirm if any additional steps is required to export the psql data into mongodb or mongodb needs additional import??
Many thanks,
Krishna
