      Description

      Dear all,

we have a well equipped two node Fireware cloud cluster in the region of Lannion. Thanks for that.

Unfortunately the bandwidth is really low. In fact it is so low, that these powerful instances becomes nearly useless for us.
We recorded a screen capture to demonstrate how slow it is to download resources from the cluster:
      http://s2.extrafolge.de/downloads/bandwidth-720.mov

The movie shows the Firebug network tab where you can see how Firebug counts the kilobytes while they are dropping in. The console window on the left shows the output of the top command on the server. You can see that there is no load. Therefor we think it is not an issue of the server.

Also, it does not seem to be an issue with the connection on our side. We experience the same behavior from very different locations. We tested in our office (50MBit VDSL connection), clients office (ZEIT ONLINE with a really big connection ), home (16Mbit DSL) and Speedup Hub. There is no difference.

Is the low bandwidth a fireware cloud restriction (by policy or by hardware) or does it seem to be a misconfiguration, either on our instances or in the region of Lannion in general?

      Thanks and regards
      Stefan

          Hi Stefan,

This bandwidth issue is known, we are working on to solve it.
But as workaround you can run this command on your VM by replacing XXX by the interface name (for example eth0):

          • ethtool -K XXX tso off

          BR,
          Anthony
