      Description

      HI

I’ve set up an instance of MiWi-POI sever in the Berlin 2 region
I’ve set a floating IP and assigned it to an instance. I’m using federation-ext-nex-01 pool.
Security group is default and a keypair has been created and the file copied to my local machine.
My Instance is showing two IP addresses one starting 192 and the other 10, the keypair is displaying, the status is ACTIVE, Tasks None and power status is RUNNING.

When I try and connect to the instance using ssh I get and error: ssh: connect to host 10.X.X.X port 22: Connection refused

The command I’m executing in the folder with my_keypair.pem file is: ssh -i my_keypair.pem root@10.X.X.X

Is there a step I’ve missed? I’m using a Mac.

        Dear,

The reason why you are not able to connect to your instance via ssh is that you have requested an internal IP (10.x.x.x network is an LAN subnet).

Please choose a floating IP from the public-ext-net-01 pool, if available and associate it to your instance. The IP must be a public IP.

Please have a look also at this guide which explain how to configure an internal network in region using Neutron: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27543127/deploy-vm-in-fiware-lab-nodes-with-neutron

        Best,
        Daniele

Let me forward your request to the Berlin node support. Maybe they can free-up one public IP for you.

Can you please forward to us your FIWARE username/mail/ID ?
Do you have a trial or community account ?

        Daniele

        HI Daniele

Thanks, that makes sense. Unfortunately there are no free IP addresses at
present. I¹ll have a look at Neutron.

        Thanks again

As far as I can see you have the trial user status. Referring to the internal policies, trial users want get a public IP anymore on the Berlin node because of limited resources. You can apply to become a community user. Please have a look at the Terms & Conditions.

        Dear Andrew,

This is the reply from Berlin, please try to allocate a public floating IP on Spain2 region, you should be able to do that there (just tried now):

        Hi Daniele

Many thanks for all your help and the Berlin support. I’ve manage to
login and also view the demo pages on the Spain2 instance.

I’m helping a company finalise their application, but wanted to see how
some of the fi Ware Enablers worked, so that I could be more knowledgable
on how their application will be implemented.

        Best regards

        Andy
