Note, that we are discussing some close integration of POI with other GEs (Content Broker specifically). os any input in terms of requirements would be very welcome.

This requires direct support from the GE owner. If you go to our online

1. Is the content not a part of POI GE?
-> The content is not a part of POI GE. The POI GE owner should populate the POI GE as needed. There is no such thing as "Global POI GE".
2. Should OCDB be used for POI content?
-> I don't know OCDB. There are two main approaces. First, you can export wanted data from OCDB and load it to POI DP. You may look the OpenStreetMap import scripts for reference: https://github.com/Chiru/FIWARE-POIDataProvider/tree/master/tools/poi_osm_import .
3. Once OCDB is deployed, the latitude/longitude of more than 7500 cities are available, however number of places available is limited.
-> POI DP is implemented using POST GIS and MongoDB databases. They do not have such limitations as far as I know.
4. Can third party software such as Open Street Map be used for populating the POIs?
-> Yes the scripts can be found in https://github.com/Chiru/FIWARE-POIDataProvider/tree/master/tools/poi_osm_import .
