Hello,

I’m new to FIWARE and was wondering if apps utilizing FIWARE need to be built using FIWARE resources such as Wirecloud. Is it possible to create a hybrid app for example packaged with phonegap and use this with other FIWARE resources.

sorry for the delay, I'm the lead developer of WireCloud, so probably I'm not the best persons to answer this.

I’m new to FIWARE and was wondering if apps utilizing FIWARE need to be built using FIWARE resources such as Wirecloud.

I don't know what are your requirements. Are you applying for any of the accelerator programmes? In general, all the GE are independent each other, e.g. WireCloud can be used connected (or not) with a KeyRock server. If you don't have a concrete requirements then you can choose the pieces you want to use.

Is it possible to create a hybrid app for example packaged with phonegap and use this with other FIWARE resources.

Technically speaking, it's possible.

Anyway, Wirecloud provides integration with some of the most valuable FIWARE GEs: Context Broker, Object Storage, CKAN, Kurento, ... You will need to create this integration by you own if you use directly Phonegap.
