      Description

      Dear IDAS team,

few months ago you configured a "dedicated instance" of IDAS accessible on
130.206.80.47 for the FINESCE WP4 trial.

I'm here to ask you if and how this instance will be involved in the
migration process that you are planning from Spain-1 to Spain-2 filab node.

We are currently planning the migration process with Josè Carrettero, and
      this information is missing.

      Please let us know,
      Kind regards,
      P.

        Dear Carlos,

thank you very much for this information. I viewed the Powerpoint
        presentation.

In our FINESCE application, we selected the SensorML because it gave us the
compliancy of the AMR-2-AMI with the ETSI Machine-To-Machine standard.

We plan to keep the SensorML.

Have a nice day. Yours, Mikhail Simonov

P.S. We would appreciate the availability of the SensorML 2.0.

Subject: Re: migration to Spain-2 - IDAS FINESCE dedicated instance

        Hi Pasquale, all,

Good news, Jose Ignacio has confirmed that 130.206.80.47 is not in the
        migration plan.

Actually, I see that you are still using IDAS2.x (the instance that you
mention at 130.206.80.47) with the SensorML/HTTP protocol.

I strongly recommend you guys to migrate to the new instance of IDAS that is
available at 130.206.80.40 (it will not be migrated as well) and you also
migrate to the much easier and lighter UL2.0/HTTP protocol.

People in recent hackathons have been able to connect and/or simulate
devices with UL2.0 in some 20minutes.

Check how easy it is at:
        <http://www.slideshare.net/FI-WARE/fiware-iotidasintroul20v2>
        http://www.slideshare.net/FI-WARE/fiware-iotidasintroul20v2

We have updated all documents and presentations for this version:

(Global Instance for the UL2.0/HTTP IoT Agent VERSION 4.x)

        Overall updated FIWARE IoT Architecture):
        http://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Internet_of_
        Things_%28IoT%29_Services_Enablement_Architecture

Of course you are free to migrate or not, but using UL2.0 and the new Agents
        has the following key advantages:

        • Efficiency: SensorML is a very typed, heavy and verbose legacy protocol.
UL2.0 is extremely simple, light and easy to use.
        • Flexibility: IDAS2.x was extremely difficult to install. The new IDAS is
totally modular (you install only the module/IoT-Agent that you need).

If one day you decide to install your own ContextBroker and IDAS, the
difference is really high (we refactored all IDAS software because this
        feedback from developers).

UL2.0 IoT Agent is available in Github as well:
        https://github.com/telefonicaid/fiware-IoTAgent-Cplusplus/

        • Much easier actuation: Trigger Device Commands just updating an entity
attribute at the ContextBroker (so final developer does not need to interact
with IDAS at all, only with ContextBroker)
        • Besides the simple UL2.0/HTTP we do support also the following IoT
protocols: MQTT and LWM2M/CoAP. If you would like to go to this new ones

In the future SensorML will be deprecated (it is a legacy one at this point)
but we will keep the instance as long as you need it by now.

If you decide to go for UL2.0, we can help you!

        Thanks for using IDAS!

        Cheers,
