FIWARE.Request.Lab.Spain.Migration from Spain1 to Spain2

    Details

    • HD-Node:
      Spain

      Description

      Hi,
our team have one instance on the spain node and one on the budapest node. Due to the current rebuilding of fi-lab, we need to migrate our instances to spain2 before the end of the month.
We have managed to create snapshots of the instances bur fail to reach/launch these from outside the node they are in now. How do we move our instances to spain2?

If there is any previous documentation on this, we have failed to find it.
Any advice in this matter, and a quick one, as time is running out, is as always much appreciated!

      Regards,
      Elin

Dear Spain support, here is the reply from user. Please see if the migration can be handled by you moving the snapshots, if not I will contact the user to explain the migration bust be done from himself by hand.
I've just replied we will see if it is feasible, user e-mail is: elin.hjorth@dataductus.se

        Hi,
yes, of course. The snapshot in spain node is 27c96537-09ad-43b0-aead-555e138c3c6d. (The instance for the snapshot is c3c38373-b044-40bc-961b-b209430c7be0).
Does this mean you can move the snapshot, or even the instance, to spain2?

        Regards,
        Elin

        Hi
The initial idea is that the migration is done by users. thus, the user deploys a VM in Spain2 and reinstall everything... Anyway, we will comment it to project managers for obtaining some feedback.
        Regads,
        Henar

Ok thanks, do I have to report this to the user or is it better to wait for further instructions from you ?

        Hi
We are not going to provide any procedure to migrate neither snapshots or VMS. They can continue using current VMs, since we are going to keep Spain node, just for the users they are using it.
You can report it to the user.
        Regards,
        Henar
