      Description

      Dear FIWARE team,

We have a question about FIWARE hosting alternatives. After using Filab and
when it is time to move a comercial version of our application to a private
hosting solution (e.g. Amazon Cloud Services), which are the most choosen
solutions by developers? Our requirements are quite simple (we are using
Orion Context Broker, COSMOS and Application Mashup-Wirecloud) but we don't
know wich providers could satisfy our needs.

Help you very much for your attention,
      Jon

Thank you very much for your response Miguel.
Yesterday night I posted a different technical questions on stackoverflow,
should I send them also via email to fiware-tech-help@lists.fi-ware.org
list or is not necessary as you are notified when a new question tagged
with "fiware" word is posted on stackoverflow platform?

It is related to subscription to Context Broker from an Android app:

Is it possible to make context subscriptions to Orion Context Broker
resources from an Android application? For NGSI10 basic operations
(updateContext and queryContext) I supose that any common android rest
client can be used, but how can we subscribe through subscribeContext?

        Thanks in advance,
        Jon

        Hi

        No problem!

No, it is not necessary to use the list. Duplicating queries between channels would make us work twice. SOF is fine.

Nota that there is an specific tag for orion, "fiware-orion". See http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers/configuration-manager-orion-context-broker.

The team of Orion should able to deal with this question.

        Regard,

        Miguel

        Dear Jon,

I see that you've sent the same question to two lists. We'd really appreciate it if you could decide which list to use in each case, duplicating queries makes two different teams work separately.

I internally made a quick round with the GE owners of the GE implementations you mentioned and they do not see any problem in principle. The GE owner of Orion points out that, of course, you need to have the operating system supported, which is CentOS 6.x (alternatively you can recompile it for other linux : Debian, Ubuntu, etc.)

In principle you should be able to work on AWS or any other cloud provider. Or even on physical servers.

As regards "which are the most chosen solutions by developers" we've normally worked with people using FIWARE Lab and providing advise beyond that falls a bit beyond our scope. In some events we've seen deployments on AWS but we ignore if people are creating relevant deployments somewhere else, really.

        Best regards,

        Miguel
