      Description

      Hello,

I am trying to create an instance

      • Ubuntu 12.04 server
      • region Berlin
      • project name: joshan-chaudhary
      • server name: TobyRichSrv

I am being unable to assign a floating IP to this instance.
The instance is always in error state.

I followed the steps found on the internet, the video portals, etc. But
still could not resolve this problem. Could you please get back to me about
      this?

        Hello Florian,

I am using the Berlin region.

I think I found a good resource about the issue https://jira.fi-ware.org:8443/browse/HELP-886

I will try again following the instructions from that link. Previously, I was on the Spain node. So, I was being able to create an instance without any need of creating a private network, etc. I thought the same for Berlin. But it looks a bit complicated for Berlin. If there is any step by step guide to creating an instance for Berlin, please provide me with a link. I will also try to follow the above resource.

Thanks a lot for your quick response.

Public IPs are the most limited resource and availability cannot be guaranteed. Please try to allocate an IP again after some time. We are constantly freeing up unused IP addresses but they are quickly re-allocated. Please consider that you may require two floating IPs for your project: one for a default gateway and one for each publicly exposed VM. In case you are working for a project or representing a project in scope of the FI-PPP, please contact us directly. We may be able to provide managed IP addresses in that case on a first come, first served basis. Please be prepared to provide your contact information in that case.
