      Description

      Hi,

I am doing a preliminary investigation about the concrete steps of becoming
a FIWARE node and have few questions. This is related to a scenario of
setting up a node in Finland.

      1. What are the minimum requirements for becoming a certified FIWARE node?
      Can anybody do it?

      2. What are the concrete minimum steps to take to become a certified FIWARE
      node?

      3. Once a node is up and running, what are the responsibilities /
expectations for an operational FIWARE node in terms of maintenance,
      collaboration etc?

      Thank you!

thanks for your interest in becoming a FIWARE node.
        Regarding you questions:
        1) I would suggest to check this wiki page that is related to the XIFI Open Call (now the open call is closed but regarding the minimum requirement it could be a good reference): http://wiki.fi-xifi.eu/Public:NodeMinimalRequirements
        2) The minimum steps are the following:
        a) installation of the cloud management platform (OpenStack)
        b) joining the FIWARE Lab federation (ie configuring your OpenStack instance so as to put it into the federation)
        c) install monitoring system, FIWARE GE images and other less important stuff
        3) Basically you should offer maintenance and support to the users of the federation. In any case it is not needed a 24x7 support but just a support during working hours.

For more information I suggest to check this page where some useful info for FIWARE infrastructure owners is provided:
