Dear Luca,
FIWARE does not provide production environments, it is up to you to find
a suitable place. This could be a private server, if you decide so.
We do offer cloud GEs that you can install and use free of charge in
your private infra but we do not offer server capacity for production
instances if this is what you ask. We facilitate the environment for the
development cycle and the testing free of charge, to foster innovation.
But the final deployment once you decide to go to the exploitation stage
is on you.
If you need help with the details of FISPACE, they are the ones who
provide the support on their SEs. FIWARE Lab offers you the possibility
of instantiating virtual machines. So in principle you can install the
SEs on top of them as you would do on a local server you have locally.
Regards,
Miguel

Dear Luca,
First a quick introduction.
FIWARE is providing the so called Generic Enablers . Generic means that they can be applied to no matter what industry, they are general purpose artefacts.
The best approach is to go to the catalogue (http://catalogue.fi-ware.org/enablers) and see our current offer. The catalogue concentrates the information of all the the available GEs with all the pointers to the manuals, open specs, terms of use, etc.
The definition of the Open Specs and the Manuals associated to each one of the is on the wiki (http://wiki.fi-ware.org/). The wiki is complex since it has loads of information. The pages you may need to look for when looking for details are here:
However, these pages also include GEs that are no longer maintained by FIWARE. The safest approach is to go to the catalogue and the catalogue will (hopefully) give you the direct links to the wiki pages that are related to the GE with no need to click though wiki menus.
May I point out that we have a free experimentation environment called FIWARE Lab (https://lab.fi-ware.org/) where we are progressively making available our GEs with self-deployment facilities. We also have online eLearning courses (http://edu.fi-ware.org/)
Going down to the concrete questions you send:
1) FIWARE Lab is a experimentation facility. This means that it has no production requirements. Using it to generate a profit is against the Term and Conditions. Of course, you can earn money with something you developed and tried on FIWARE Lab but the production instance must be somewhere else.
2) The catalogue has the pointers to all the GEs. The GEs have open specs and associated APIs. In practical terms, you decide to crreate you application and identify GE implementations that provide functionality that is useful for your app. Your app will talk to the GE implementation via a REST interface.
The Ges may talk between themselves via their particular REST façade.
3) FIWARE is the provider of the Generic Enablers (Generic = useful in any domain). A number of projects were opened around FIWARE that tested our technology in different domains. They were called "Use Case Projects". FINESCE (http://www.finesce.eu/What_we_do.html) is one of them (there are more, see our links under "RELATED PROJECTS" here: http://www.fiware.org/blog/). Finesce is about smart use of energy.
The Use Cases are domain specific and if the created Enablers, they were SEs (Specific Enablers, linked to a sector)
I hope that it helps
Miguel

Hi,
i’m approaching the FIWARE technology but i can’t understand all.
My questions are:
1. FIWARE Lab must use only for test or also for deploy a solution?
2. Where i can access to set up the FIWARE GE? How can i connect together different GE?
3. What’s the difference from FIWARE and FISPACE?
Thanks,
Luca
