      Description

      Dear Sir/ Dear Madam,

We are studying the FIWARE platform in order to use it to develop a specific
      web application for our customers.

We have already found very useful functionalities, e. the Complex Event
Processing GE, which will use in our specific business logic. But we have
      the following question:

Is there in the FIWARE platform a functionality (generic/specific enabler,
bundle, tool or other) which can help us to provide the following generic
      functionality:

      • content management system - possibility to some users to add/change the
information of certain parts of the web site.
      • wiki - possibility to some users to enter an expert information, which
        will be used by others
      • blog - online discussions
      • calendar - managing and visualizing an event information

Or we have to use a third-party solutions for these functionalities and to
deploy and configure them in the cloud infrastructure of FIWARE platform?

      Thank you in advance.

      Waiting for your response,

      Your sincerely,

      Ivaylo Dobrev

        Dear Mr. Dobrev,

Thanks for contacting us. I am afraid that the approach of FIWARE is different. I guess that you are aware of our catalogue: http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers. This is the place where you can see all our offering at a glance. Also, we will incorporate new functionalities as expressed on our roadmap:

All is up to date in the roadmap except for IoT. WebUI is mostly up to date but there a few details to touch up that may change.

The closest we have to a CMS we have is CKAN, not yet released in FIWARE (although it is already in use in FIWARE Lab). We use it to publish Open Data from Smart Cities. This software has been included in our roadmap (see [1] & [2]) and it will be incorporated to FIWARE shortly. The theoretical date is after the end of March (end of R4.2) but we intend to have it earlier than that. In the mean time, it is possible to experiment with "out of the self" versions of CKAN that are already available on http://ckan.org/. Admittedly, I do not think that this is what you are looking for.

We do not offer FIWARE wikis, calendar, blogs, etc. We do use them in our internal forge (where we use MediaWiki , as you have possibly gathered). We also use Wordpress, etc. So for these, we are users, not providers.

        Best regards,

        Miguel
