The only programme with funding to develop new things in the FIWARE ecosystem is at present the acceleration programme. See http://www.fiware.org/fiware-accelerator-programme/

Admittedly, this Programmed focuses on SMEs and entrepreneurs who want to develop ideas, not in the creation of new components.

FIWARE will decide in the future how to incorporate external contributions but there are no rules in place yet and at this point in time we do not know whether this will be somehow funded. or not.

of course, it is also possible to propose fiware extensions as results of
r&d proposal to be submitted to the regular rtd ec programme like the calls
at the moment open as ict16 or ict30 to cite some.

of course this kind of proposals are more complicated than those submitted
to fiware accelerate as they are full scale r&d ec funded projects.

Thank you for your responses,
I have been looking into the lines you mentioned, but most are closed to
applicants from abroad, specially from Brazil. For these, there are some
special calls, which not always fit. I reached out because I heard of a
project that got fund last year not through the accelerators, but I figure
it was a strategic one. Anyway, thanks again.
