      Description

      Dear colleagues,

Alexander pass the enclosed information to me, which I would like to share with together with my views on the matter.

      · Good idea of the FI-Business team to host the boot camp at the same time as the Berlin Web Week, co-location is a good background motivator and multiplier.

      · I hope that the FI-Business team can advertise this aspect to the startups/SMEs attending and helps them to get into other events as much as possible (I know that is some coordination effort, but that's the business…)

      · I copy the FIWARE and the press office teams to take note. I copy the mailing list fiware-speakers-req@lists.fi-ware.org<fiware-speakers-req@lists.fi-ware.org> which is the way to lodge a request for a FIWARE speaker.

      · Alexander, definitely advertise the Berlin Web Week on basecamp as well.

      · I could imagine that the 'locals' in Berlin/Germany play a special role in pushing for a good involvement of FIWARE. Good is: Much content, much visibility and much traction with little effort and cost (tell me if you have figured out how to do that…

      Feedback solicited.

      Best, Peter

Subject: FIWARE Boot Camp (1-3 May) & Berlin Web Week (4-10 May)

      Dear Peter and Ilkka,

We are currently preparing the first Boot Camp for FIWARE startups in Berlin and it will take place as an opener of the Berlin Web Week. This series of conferences and events, like re:pulica, Heureka Conference, Media Convention, VC market, Berlin Talents Summit and the Queer Tech Festival that brings annually about 18.000 people together.

As entrepreneurship is one of the main topics it will attract a lot of startups and the boot camp has the whole Adlershof Science Campus rented, I wanted to ask if FI LABS or FIWARE Education wants to do as session there. It would be perfect occasion for FIWARE Labs to present the APIs to interested startups and researchers from the Berlin Universities. We are in cooperation already with the Humboldt University and the TU.

Please find attached the current programme of the Boot Camp. More information about the Berlin Web Week will available soon on this website: http://berlinwebweek.de/?lang=en

Would happy to talk to you about a potential cooperation.

      Best wishes from Berlin,
      Alex

        Dear Peter,

Thank you very much for sharing this opportunity with the accelerators and FIWARE representatives.

I shared a post on the Berlin Web Week with all possible cooperation opportunities on Basecamp. Basically, what we can offer is:

        • Locations for organizing an event
        • Audience of local and national startups
        • Marketing with the Berlin Web Week
        • Cooperation with Berlin Universities, like Humboldt University, TU, Fraunhofer for FI Labs and FI Education
        • Cooperation with other Berlin Web Week events

Our aim is to get more people to the workshop area in order to make the area a bit more vivid as it is a weekend after a bank holiday and of course to connect the FIWARE startups with Berlin startups and science projects at Berlin universities.

I would we very glad to hear your ideas for a concept of a parallel event that promotes FIWARE. Either at our location during the workshop from 1 to 3 May or at one of the partner events during the Web Week.

        Best wishes from Berlin,

        Alex

        Dear Peter, all,

I have gone through all the information about the Boot camp and it sounds really interesting.

You may know (as most of the colleagues in CC) that FIWARE is programming future training activities in a more coordinated way. We are considering the different events and dates in order to establish synergies and optimize the use of resources. Stefano is currently coordinating the coaching team.
This clearly seems a good candidate but we will come back to you on the feasibility to be there and in that case a concrete proposal.

Best regards and thanks in advance,

        Nuria

        Dear Nuria,

Thank you very much for your feedback on a possible collaboration. The current plan is to organize a kind of Open Entrepreneurship and Tech Forum next to the boot camp at location in Adlershof. We are thinking about a collaboration with the Humboldt University and the local startup scene. The programme points could be:

        • Get to know the powerful APIs for the future internet? FIWARE is all open source.
        • Acceleration for future internet startups – Meet 16 European Tech Accelerators and find up to 200k funding
        • Workshop or Hackaton on FIWARE APIs
        • Innovative Science Projects at Humboldt University
        • Technology Transfer – How can this make my company or startup more innovative?
        • Tech Demo Session of HUI and Wista startups in the area of Future Internet

I would also like to bring the International Games Week Berlin (21-26 April) to your attention. We have the biggest developer conference of Germany and matchmaking events for SMEs in the games industry. We are organizing an investment forum and information session on French-Germany cooperation there.

        Best wishes from Berlin,

        Alex
