Hi again,
I redid the whole thing, not sure I did anything differently, but now it works just fine!
Thank you for your help
Regards,
Elin

Hi Elin,
I rebooted you instance, and checked that your rsa key was installed properly in the vm (see the screeshot). I suggest that you should try to ssh to it one more time, and if it does not allow you to access the vm, try to regenerate your private key from the pem, or. create another vm with a different key. Unfortunately, the portal does not allow you to download the private key later, (actually it is not stored by us after you downloaded).
Best,
Sandor

Hi again,
Our username is tommy-bloom. I'm afraid it still doesn't work.
I'm using root to log on, with the private key I genarated in putty using the pem file from fi-lab.
Is there a way to download the key from fi-lab again? Or should I just redo the whole initialisation process?
Regards
Elin

Hello Elin,
What is the user name do you use? I have just checked the iotbroker
image, and it works fine for me. Use the username root (you can set
under Connection/Data/Auto login username in putty), and the ppk file as
private key (Connection/SSH/Auth->Private key file for authentication)
in putty.
Please let us know if the problem is still there.
Best regards,
Sandor

Hi
Ok, that explains it. Yes, I will use only the public network in the future.
The vm I'm trying to connect to is called IoTBroker3 and has id cb8d3b47-9cde-4885-a9a0-b38095b1e408

Dear Elin,
yes, when you use two network interface the VM cannot associate the
floating IP to the VM, because some image does not configure both
network card and public floating IP cannot set for mdvpn net and
inversly. The mdvpn is a interregion network. If it is not necessary,
use the publicNet.
What is youre VM name, or Id? We will check what is a problem with the
connection.
ps, please use the 'Answer all', and send the mail to the
fiware-lab-help too, because my college will not see your email.

Gergő

Hi
Actually, I just got it to work!
I had activated both publicInternal and mdvpnInternal on the vm. I
then created a ip in the publicRange.
As I tried to associate this public ip to the vm, I got an error
message.
I now tried to make a vm with only the public network, and now it
worked to assign it the public ip.
Although a new problem has occured. I can't connect to it.I
downloaded the key.pem and generated a private key .ppk.
But I'm getting "Server refused our key" as I try to log on as root
with my key and password.
Shouldn't I use root? Or have I missed anything?
Regards,
Elin

Dear Elin,
I need to some infomration about the error. What is the error that
you
got? Which network do you use on the VM? Which floating IP pool do
you
use?

Hi
Our project is trying to set up a new instance in fi-lab. We have
previously been in Spain region but switched to Budapest due to the
lack of resources in Spain.
We have set up an instance but fail to associate a public ip with
the
instance. We need it to be public since we have an instance in Spain
that we want to communicate with.
Is there any known problem regarding this in the Budapest region? Or
what could cause it otherwise?
Regards
Elin
