Description
Hello,
Just a small note. Few weeks ago Juan Jose Hierro gave a webex presentation
to TMForum group. I do not have his contacts; will you please check with him
on the best possible way forward?
Thank you,
Alex

Subject: Mapping Fi-Ware to TOGAF/Frameworx
Hello,
My name is Alex Mavrin; I am part of TMForum Digital Frameworx work group
and I am based in the Netherlands. Our group is busy in Smart City / Digital
Ecosystem space.
I am exploring the mapping of Fi-Ware functionality to TOGAF/Frameworx
architecture, and wonder if I can align with Fi-Ware architects.
Few questions:
- Has anyone already attempted the mapping of Fi-Ware to TOGAF?
- What is the best way to align with Fi-Ware architects and
exchange information? Can I get a focal point?
Thank you,
Alex Mavrin

Dear Alex,
I guess that with this email you already got my contact
I'm afraid that neither me nor any of the FIWARE chapter architects are familiar with the TOGAF framework. Maybe it will be worth scheduling a webex were you can introduce this to some of us.
One of our top priorities for 2015 will be to push for the fast-track adoption of NGSI specifications in the IoT and Smart Cities domain (although it is rather appropriate for any kind of domain where the concept of smart context-aware applications/services is relevant). As I explained in the webex session I gave, NGSI specifications came originally from OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) although we have defined a RESTful binding and also fixing some gaps in the specs within FIWARE. If TOGAF is aiming at playing a relevant role in the IoT or Smart applications/services domain then a discussion looks promising.
I'm telling this because I want to be frank with you. If a joint work may help to leverage positioning/adoption of NGSI specs, then we are happy to discuss, but if not, then we won't be able to spend too much resources. We plan to focus our resources in positioning NGSI within some bodies like GSMA, ETSI, maybe OGC and of course OMA. Also among relevant industry players (telcos, IoT device manufacturers and solution integrators)
I take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best regards,
Juanjo Hierro
