      Description

      Hi,

      My user id is pedro-pazenda and I have been having problems terminating
      an Instance (FI-SONIC).

      The status of the instance says ERROR. Do you know why this happens? How
      can I solve it?

        Dear Pedro,

        if you have an image to start again your instance, probably it can be just deleted. Can you tell me the Region you are using so I will fwd your request ?

        My Region is Berlin. The Instance name is FI-Sonic and the problem about starting another instance it that I am already out of resources...

        Can you remove it for me?

        It depends also on which network you are requesting the IPs. Are they public ?

        In any case I don’t have deep vision on Berlin node, so I ask you to wait response from the Berlin support where I’ve fwd your request.

        If you try opening a new account on FI-LAB you you will see that you cannot allocate a new public IP in any network...

        I have tried them all, with a new account.

        I’ve already fwd your request about the deletion of an instance to the right support (Berlin region help desk), but they didn’t reply yet.

        Since we dispatch the request based on region, issues type or other criteria, if you ask many questions via e-mail become difficult for us to track and solve your problems.

        If you are experiencing problem with the network please send a separate request to the mailing list, it will be fwd according to the internal procedure we follow. Remember to specify the regions where you are encountering issues. You could also try to allocate a public IP on other regions.

        Moreover, the platform is stable and available to support you in submitting your proposal to one of the accelerator programmes.

        As you can understand since it is free of costs and in continuous improvement, sometimes some services can have a small downtime.

        To Berlin support Team,

        the user has a problem with his instance as described above but he's also reporting it's not possible to get a public IP on any Region. I know there are limitations on the number of public IP assigned to users but, can you provide him one on your region since he's already using it ?

        The instance error'ed due to a resource problem. That indicates a lack of computing resources but it also might have been a temporary issue in the communication between OpenStack controller and compute node.
        I deleted the instance since it was not possible to reboot it.
        Please check the instance configuration: the large flavor consumes a lot of resources. You might have reached your quota limits..
