Description
Dear Fiware Team,
The Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) and the Hitachi Brussels
office are pleased to invite you to a round table “IoT 4 SDGs - The
Internet of Things, Sustainable Development and the EU’s policy landscape”
in Brussels.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide globally accepted
objectives for both policy makers and businesses in their pursuit for more
sustainability. At the same time, the European Commission is launching an
ambitious Green New Deal, with a strong reliance on technologies such as
Artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. The latter, in
particular, provides technological means to help attaining many of the
SDGs, and appears to be essential in domains like manufacturing, mobility,
energy and healthcare.
But how is the European Commission planning to untap the full potential of
the IoT? How can the private sector contribute, through technological
innovation and new business models, to the SDGs? What type of innovation
policies can ensure that the EU leverages technology for sustainable
development, while at the same time achieving “technological sovereignty”?
We would be happy if you could join us for discussing these and more
questions. See the invitation letter and agenda attached to this email for
more details.
Please let us know if you would like to participate.
Date: January 30, 2020 / 09:00-13:00
Venue: Centre for European Policy Studies, Place du Congrès 1, 1000,
Brussels
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Kind regards,
Moritz Laurer
