FIWARE.Request.General.FIWARE.Request.Tech.Technical information about FIWARE.

    Details

      Description

      Greetings,

Is it possible for FIWARE to accept to its GEs Catalog a platform that works on a non-opensource platform, for example, if we create a Generic Enabler (GE) using ASP.NET that is compliant with FIWARE standards and is capable of interacting with other FIWARE GEs (depending from the situation), is it possible for this platform to be published on FIWARE Catalog.

      Waiting forward for your response.

      Genti Qirjazi

        Dear Genti,

At the moment we only publish GEs produced by the FIWARE consortium. All of them are Open Source and royalty free with one single exception that we are working on to remove.

We intend to open the catalogue up in the future to external contributions but this is not defined yet. This means that I cannot state whether this would be possible or not since there are not governance rules in place yet. The general spirit of the Programme is decisively pro open source free software but I do not know to what extent there would be room for your proposal once we have such rules.

        Best regards,

        Miguel
