      Description

      Dear Mr/Madam,

My name is Felix Pedrera. I am Project Manager at Deimos Space, a company
that is coordinating the H2020 Project named MELOA. I am currently
coordinating one of its work packages related to Data Dissemination,
      Storage and Processing.

Running from December 2017 to February 2021, MELOA is a H2020 project that
is developing an innovative family of products, WAVY drifter units,
allowing for a low-cost, easily deployable, high versatility, and low
maintenance system for in-situ measurements for marine environments.

Focused on covering marine observation gaps, the WAVYs will increase the
availability of in-situ data for coastal and open ocean zones. The MELOA
project is developing the first prototypes for the different WAVY units
configurations, and engaging with the marine community to test them in
different marine environments, collecting and making available the data
from the test campaigns and building, on top of this data, the first
products and services to showcase the usefulness of the WAVY data.

MELOA Consortium is composed by 10 European entities working in close
collaboration with the marine communities to develop solutions that will
enable to tackle some societal challenges, namely those related in situ
      data collection for marine monitoring.

      More info at: https://www.ec-meloa.eu

Within MELOA, generate in-situ data from the test campaigns carried out.
The data will be made available, and linked, to GEOSS and Copernicus, via
an online catalogue (based on CKAN). Data products derived from the in-situ
data will also be generated. These derived data will also be linked to the
GEOSS and Copernicus programmes (using an open search catalogue approach).

We would like to evaluate the use of FIWARE for some or of our platform
      developments:

      • To host our Software Components on the FIWARE Cloud infrastructure: We
have estimated that we would need 6 VM with 4 vCPU and 32 GB RAM each, and
2 VM with 8 vCPU 32 GB RAM each, plus 8 TB of storage.
      • To develop proper enablers to feed the FIWARE community with WAVY's data
to facilitate access and use of such type of data to non-scientific users
and promote new derived market opportunities, vía federation with the
        FIWARE Catalogue or other mechanisms.

We are new to the FIWARE platform, so we would need first to check with you
if this is possible, and how to proceed in case it is feasible to use the
FIWARE Cloud resources and how to develop an enabler for the WAVYs data.

      Best regards,

      Félix
