Subject: 答复: Regarding CPU Cores for Compute Nodes

      Dear lannion team,

As Cristian CMECIU is in holiday, so I send this mail to you.

We are planning to build an environment for FIWARE-Lab. According to the following HW configuration:
      [cid:image002.png@01D30AE9.62CF0AF0]
It should have 200 CPU physical cores for compute nodes. I have a question that “200 CPU physical cores” means “Threads” or “Cores” of the CPU?
For Intel CPU “E5-2683V4” , refer to http://ark.intel.com/products/91766/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2683-v4-40M-Cache-2_10-GHz
      [cid:image003.jpg@01D30AE9.62CF0AF0]

How many CPUs we should buy if we use “E5-2683V4”, the quantity is 14 or 8?
Would you please kindly give a recommendation?
      Thanks very much!

      Regards,
      David

        dear yanjun chen,

clearly there is a mistake in that list as you very well spotted.
for the compute nodes the requirements is at least 200 physical cores.

feel free to contact me if need, happy to help!

        ciao,
        stefano

        Comment by yanjun.chen@orange.com :

OK. So we got the confirmation that it refers to “Core” but not “Thread”.
Thank you very much for your help.

        Best regards,
