      Description

      Dear coachers,

We've received a question regarding FI-LAB cloud resources management.
More specifically a Fractals open call partner wanted to put all his
colleagues in an organization defined in FIWARE IDM
so that all of them can have access to his account's cloud resources in
      the FI-LAB cloud.

At first is that possible ? I have played around with the organization
creation and I don't think that this can be done. At a second phase if it
is not possible is there another way to have them share the cloud
      resources between them?
A solution of course is to suggest them to have the cloud resources owner
create the VMs needed with external IP dedicated to them so that his
colleagues should access them remotely through SSH for example but not
have access to the cloud resources directly.

      Best regards,

      Vasilis

        Hi Vasilis,

Yes, this is possible. As far as I know an organization is created for each Fiware Lab community account. Once an SME gets a community account for the person that made the application, they are encouraged to add other team members to their cloud organization using the cloud portal.

One thing to note though, they need to make sure that the team members they want to add have Fiware lab accounts (the team members can apply using the basic account registration mechanism, they don’t need to apply for community account again)

        Best regards,

        ilknur

        Thank you Ilknur,

Its clear now how it is done so I've answered to them.
Maybe the problem had to do with not adding the members to the cloud
organization that is created for the community account and adding them
        to a new created one.

        Best regards,

        Hello again,
I receive some problems with regards to all the members of the
organization sharing the same resources of the community account. Is
there a guide or tutorial so that we can give them to shed light on this?

Also I would like to ask another question made from beneficiaries
regarding the fact about FILAB sustainability.
In other words if an application goes commercial and is hosted in FILAB
what are going to be the terms for it?
For example for how long after FRACTALS ends will it be hosted there and
        with what terms?

        Best regards,

        Vasilis

        Hi Vasilis,

Here is a guide that explains exactly this - how to add other users to a community account for sharing cloud resources with them:
        https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FIWARE_Lab:_Upgrade_to_Community_Account#How_can_authorize_other_users_to_use_my_cloud_resources.3F

Regarding FIWARE LAB usage, it is actually not intended for commercial use. SMEs can use it only during development/experimentation time, then they can switch to commercial FIWARE offerings when they are ready to go commercial with their applications.

        Hope this helps.

        Best regards,

        ilknur

ichulani ilknur chulani added a comment - Hi Vasilis, Here is a guide that explains exactly this - how to add other users to a community account for sharing cloud resources with them: https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FIWARE_Lab:_Upgrade_to_Community_Account#How_can_authorize_other_users_to_use_my_cloud_resources.3F Regarding FIWARE LAB usage, it is actually not intended for commercial use. SMEs can use it only during development/experimentation time, then they can switch to commercial FIWARE offerings when they are ready to go commercial with their applications. Hope this helps. Is there a guide or tutorial so that we can give them to shed light on this? Also I would like to ask another question made from beneficiaries regarding the fact about FILAB sustainability. In other words if an application goes commercial and is hosted in FILAB what are going to be the terms for it? For example for how long after FRACTALS ends will it be hosted there and with what terms? Best regards, Vasilis On 6/23/2015 5:40 PM, Chulani, Ilknur wrote: > Hi Vasilis, > > Yes, this is possible. As far as I know an organization is created for each Fiware Lab community account.
