      Description

      Hi Sándor,
      today we found that our instance, with name "fv02", was in the SHUTOFF
      status.
      I tried 3 times to restart it (Start Instance): no result, although I
      get the message "Success: Instance fv02 started".
      Could you help me?
      We have a few snapshots of the instance: should I try to launch a new
      Instance from the most recent snapshot?
      Thank you in advance, Giovanni

          Dear Giovanni,

          May I kindly recommend writing to fiware-fiadopt-coaching@lists.fiware.org if you have a new inquiry in the future? So a new ticket is created for different issues/inquries. This could allow all of us to track the conversations more effectively.

          On the other hand, for this particular case, I will try to create a new ticket in FIWARE Lab help desk to raise awareness for the difficulty of finding Swift end points.

          Kind regards,

          ilknur

          Thank you Sandor, thank you Ilknur,

          in fact, by issuing the equivalent request inside our Python test
          procedure, we got a big Json data structure including, for each type of
          service, the list of the endpoints that we should be able to access.
          With my email, I wished mainly to give a feedback, useful for other
          people and for improving the documentation, on the difficulty that we
          met at finding and interpreting that information.

          Best regards, Giovanni

          Dear Ilknur and Geiovanni,

          I do not know if it is available in the cloud portal, but through the keystone api you can get this info with the following commands:

          curl -i 'http://cloud.lab.fiware.org:4730/v2.0/tokens' -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Accept: application/json" -d '{"auth": {"passwordCredentials":

          {"username": "***your email****", "password": "*********"}

          , "tenantId": "*******"}}' | sed 's/{"endpoints":/\n

          {"object-store-end-points":/g' | grep swift | sed 's/, $//' | python -m json.tool Fill the username, password and tennant id. This script will show you the object storage service endpoints for all the regions. For my account the Budapest entry looks like: { "adminURL": "http://148.6.80.5:8080/v1", "id": "0653309ac1114571ad1f0058d22fb280", "internalURL": "http://148.6.80.5:8080/v1/AUTH_00000000000000000000000000007518", "publicURL": "http://148.6.80.5:8080/v1/AUTH_00000000000000000000000000007518", "region": "Budapest2" }

          ,

          After that the publicURL can be used to access the swift endpoint.

          I hope this helps you.
          Best regards,
          Sandor

          Hi Sandor,

          Thanks very much for the tips. Which endpoint should they use on the Budapest node? and how can one find out about this? Is this info listed anywhere in the cloud portal, etc?

          Kind regards,

          ilknur

          Dear Giovanni,

          For Object Storage you can use the official OpenStack Swift documentation that is available here:
          http://developer.openstack.org/api-ref-objectstorage-v1.html

          I also found a book on it:
          https://www.safaribooksonline.com/library/view/openstack-swift/9781491903841/ch04.html

          I'm not 100% sure that the following examples work or not, but you can also check them.
          1. Python examples with swiftclient package:
          https://swiftstack.com/docs/integration/python-swiftclient.html
          2. C++ examples:
          https://github.com/bshafiee/Swift_CPP_SDK

          One more thing: You can only access to the Object Storage endpoints that are located in the region you are associated with. This means that the end point you mentioned is in Lannion region, and probably you are not assigned to that region and this is why it does not work.

          Best regards,
          Sandor
