FIWARE.Request.Coach.FINODEX.Location Plarform GE - where ?

          Description

          Hello coachers,

          In the project that we are currently developing we are planning to use the
          Location Platform GE therefore a few questions have arisen concerning it's
          proper set up and use:

          1. First of all, the Enabler is not listed under the generic
          enablers in this
          page <http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers> so we would like to verify
          that it is currently active.
          2. Secondly, in the User and Programmer Guide
          <https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Location_Platform_-_User_and_Programmers_Guide>
          the corresponding link to the Installation Guide
          <https://forge.fiware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Location_Platform_-_Installation_and_Administration_Guide_R2>
          leads
          to an empty page.
          3. Is there maybe a global instance of the platform we could use to e.g.
          verify a client's location or we need to set up a Location Platform
          Server anyway?

          Any additional information you could provide concerning the Location
          Platform Enabler would be really helpful.

            Hi Pasquale,

            thank you for your answer.
            It seems that GIS Data Provider is suitable for 3D objects (we do not have
            such in our project) and it's server side.
            POI data provider is for storing and retrieving georeferenced data through
            spatial queries. We have alredy implemented such functionality in our
            project.
            We planned to use Location Platform in order to confirm user's location (on
            client side), in order to have realible crowdsourced information.
            Since we don't have enough time right now, and Location Platform is
            inactive we are thinking of making such location confirmation with 3rd
            party tools.
            Is this a problem as it concerns FIWARE usage?
            (I am reminding you that we were planning to use 3 more envirofi specific
            enablers that turned out to be inactive as well and we replaced their
            functionality with 3rd party and our own components).

            i'm the fiware lab responsible.
            indeed, for some reasons the location ge is not in the catalogue.
            but if you really prefer to use it, actually it was nicely working, i can
            put you in contact with location ge former ge owner.

            Thank you Stefano,

            we have already lost much time on that, we are concerned about probable
            issues that will come up and the relative risk.
            Our experience in other enablers show that several days are required to get
            familiar and solve issues.
            Nevertheless, sure we would like to contact the former ge owner and
            investigate what's best for our project.
