For our side you have different ways to collaborate with FIWARE, detailed as follows:
We have already drafted our governance model for the Open Source Community on how to contribute https://www.fiware.org/fiware-governance/
Apart from that, there’s being drafted the FIWARE Foundation, which is a separated “entity” let’s say and this is open to any industry or company that wants to invest or participate. We are drafting the details, but we hope to have these soon. So, you are more than welcome to participate, this is under discussion, and we hope to have news soon.

FIWARE as such contributes the core foundation, that is to say, the GEs and GE reference implementations. These are provided by the consortium members but we have plans to open it up in coming months to open a community.
