      Description

      Hi

On stackoverflow I learned that I had to ask questions on fiware infrastructure on this mailing list.

I launch an instance (Ubuntu 12.04/14.04 and centos 7.0 ) on filab but I am unable to connect or login to the machines.

      · I pinged to associated public IP with correct security group (IMCP¨0.0.0.0:0): no response (same for SSH)

      · From inside the portal I see an action "reset password" on the instances but if I try I get an unimplemented error

      · I can connect to the VM via Qemu but I get asked a login. Which one can I use?

o I tried adding a user to the cloud-config according to this https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/an-introduction-to-cloud-config-scripting . This does not seem to work.

At the end of the cloud config I add the following

      users:

      • name: myuser

      groups: sudo

      shell: /bin/bash

      sudo: ['ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL']

      passwd: <snip> // generated with /sbin/grub-crypt --sha-512

      ssh-authorized-keys:

      • ssh-rsa <snip>

Any ideas how I can resolve or go further?

      Best regards

      Jan Vandepitte.

        Hi

I was able to connect after some more tries. I am not aware what was different this time.

        Thanks for the support.

        Hi

        This is for Gent region.

I can't SSH into the machine, nor ping it. That's why I try VNC. So I cannot set the UN/PW.

I have done the setup of the network configuration correctly (as described) multiple times. Techsupport of creatify has advised me to connect via VNC so I can look at the connection problems, but apparently I cannot use VNC when I haven't logged in via SSH.

        Best regards

        Jan Vandepitte.

        Dear,

First of all, can you please let us also know the region you are using ?

Usually there is no way to connect to a fresh new instance via the console if the instance is started from a default image, since they usually permit access only via ssh. In other words you should be able to reach the instance via network and use the ssh private/public keys in order to login.
Maybe your instance has some network misconfiguration, please have a look at this:
