Description
Hi,
I am technical manager of the FI-PPP Phase 2 FINESCE<http://www.finesce.eu/> project, which is in the energy area.
FINESCE is currently making live energy data available from its trial sites via an API<http://www.finesce.eu/FINESCE_API.html>. Although we intend to keep the trial sites live for a period after FINESCE ends in September, the API will cease to function when the trial sites go off-line, which will probably be next year.
To ensure that this resource is not lost, we also want to gather all the historical data available over this API and make it available on the FIWARE Lab Data platform, so it is available over a longer period.
This would be more that a year's worth of different energy-related datasets from our trial site, making it a unique offering.
Can you please help us in using the FIWARE Lab Data platform?
I guess we need to be defined as a CKAN organisation<https://data.lab.fiware.org/vi/organization> on the platform?
Is there anything else we should be aware of or need to do?
Best Regards,
Padraic McKeever

Dear Padraic,
What I see in your API is that you have your own adhoc FINESCE API and a server where this API has the data stored and the API running. Options that I see:
· Transfer the server to FIWARE Lab hosting, as any other hosting.
· Cataloguing the API through data.lab.fiware.org. Well, given that it is an ad-hoc API, I don’t know to what extent it makes sense. It will just offer the URL to the server.
· Moving towards the Open and Agile Smart Cities (OASC) approach, which could mean
o Easy path: offering an NGSI data wrapper (NGSI provider) with the data in your API, but adapted to the NGSI Entity/Attributes model (just the query context operation).
o Transferring the data to a context broker instance.
o In both cases, the APIs be catalogued as any other NGSI data source in data.lab.
OASC approach would give you the opportunity to standardize your models for energy related issues and to enable the usage of FINESCE platform by the cities in OASC.
Please, let us know your approach.
Best Regards,
Sergio.
