Description
To whom it may concern,
I'm trying to figure out what is FIWARE exactly but I just get a set
of documents with abstract and general concepts, nothing related about
concrete things.
I'm a professor at the University of Granada and I also collaborate in
a social network project that is very promising. How and what "part" of
FIWARE could I use?
Thank you.
Alberto.

Dear Alberto,
Thanks a lot for your interest in FIWARE. At a glance, FIWARE is a set of middleware components, what we call Generic Enablers, which expect to provide innovative technologies integrated in a common platform and which will ease the creation of new services.
These technologies are grouped in technical domains like Cloud, Internet of Things, Data, Security, Advanced Web-based User interfaces... And each domain provide a full description of Specifications, APIs and architecture and functionalities per Generic Enabler. The best entry point to discover these facilities si our catalogue: http://catalogue.fi-ware.org
You can use the most relevant of them for your purpose (creation of a service, evaluation of the technology, create your own platform) because almost everything is in Open Source.
In addition, you can follow FIWARE Accelerator programme which wants to involve SMEs, Startups and webentrepreneurs to integrate and use these technologies in new services with clear business objectives. You can retrieve all information in our website: www.fi-ware.org .
Feel free to contact us after a first tour through the catalogue.
Best regards,
Thierry Nagellen - ORANGE
IoT leader
